I remember Dave from EMC when they were at Mercer Road in Natick. Dick Egan, Jack Egan, Mike Egan, Chris Egan and Dave D– right out of college. This is a GREAT move for Dave and for HP. Obviously moving to CA to run a really interesting business–bet there's an enterprise network acquisition coming. FINALLY HP puts someone with a storage background in a super senior management position. Storage is 50% of clients HW spend, hello!

Believe it or not I think this is good for EMC. I think it makes space for some other talented flowers to blossom.
