I’ve been fascinated by the Botnik community for a while. They’re a community based on a predictive keyboard engine, taking a corpus of text (Tennyson poetry, PBS Nature documentaries, Belle and Sebastian lyrics) and using that engine to create “new” works. It’s part silly fun, but frequently yields fascinating results. The fake Seinfeld scene they generated is disturbingly spot on, if slightly Dadaist.
Perhaps the best part is that they host their predictive keyboard on their site, as well as providing the code on Github to run it locally. This allows you to come up with your own corpus of work for whatever project you like. I decided to put together a list of 200 tech company slogans and see what came out. To make it a little more fun, I used Name Mesh and Fantasy Name Generator to come up with some quality IT company names, and their associated mission.
Here are the results:
-
Basork – “Connect the possibilities. Share the possibilities. Experience data management.”
-
Sailightning – “Innovation accelerating the programmable planet at work”
-
Hooksys – “Your onramp to the ultimate world of computing innovation”
-
Hogurity – “Imagine the network of true convergence”
-
Corehouse – “Power for innovators, committed in thin computing”
-
Kontaener – “Believe in the power of confidence to accelerate change “
