Cisco Ventures into AI Security with the Acquisition of Robust Intelligence

Cisco recently announced its intent to acquire Israeli startup company, Robust Intelligence, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition marks a significant step forward for Cisco as it plans to expand into the emerging field of AI security.

In a rapidly evolving threat landscape, protecting AI assets has rose to a top priority for organizations. AI security technologies like Robust Intelligence’s aim to eliminate inherent weaknesses in AI models and systems giving them protection against a plethora of threats.

Robust Intelligence specializes in automated security and vulnerability testing for AI models, a technology that aligns organically with Cisco’s AI security play.In the press release, Cisco laid out its vision for the acquisition. Robust Intelligence’s technology will serve as a safety layer for Cisco Security Cloud providing AI applications and models default protection. Additionally, the company’s AI security expertise will lend itself to drive Cisco’s in-house innovation in the same.
