MS Build 2022 Announcements

At the Microsoft Build 2022 developer conference, Microsoft made a line of announcements of which the prevailing themes were AI, data and cloud. Satya Nandella, executive chairman and CEO kicked off the event with his keynote in which he made the announcements which he said were all centered around “building what the world needs”. That was an interesting punchline to say the least, and I cannot wait to see what Microsoft has for us.

Among the barrage of announcements made was Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform which was obviously one of the stars of the show. Other announcements included Azure OpenAI Service which Microsoft revealed is now in preview. There have been some new additions to the Azure Cognitive Services for Language. Another announcement worth noting was Project Volterra which is a developers’ kit native of Windows that includes a neural processor and an Arm CPU. And in case you’d be interested, there were discussions on the metaverse.
