1:20 – NVIDIA AI Servers Immune to US Tariffs
While the Liberation Day tariffs have caused panic for tech companies, NVIDIA seems to be in a good position to avoid price increases in the US. Bernstein Research reports that 60% of AI servers are shipped to the US from Mexico and are exempt from tariffs under the USMCA treaty. Will we see more server hardware shipped via Mexico or Canada?

4:14 – Ivanti Hardware Hacked by Chinese Group
Suspected Chinese government-affiliated hackers have been exploiting a critical vulnerability, CVE-2025-22457, in Ivanti VPN appliances since mid-March 2025, marking at least the third such incident in three years. This stack-based buffer overflow flaw allows unauthenticated remote code execution and affects several Ivanti products, including Connect Secure (versions 22.7R2.5 and earlier), Pulse Connect Secure 9.x, Policy Secure, and ZTA gateways. Ivanti has released a patch in version 22.7R2.6 and urges customers to update immediately, as the attackers have been deploying new malware strains on compromised devices.

7:42 – Oracle Cloud Admits Breach
After a campaign of denials, Oracle Cloud has admitted that a hacker accessed customer data by compromising the login system for their public cloud. After Oracle initially denied everything, the hacker showed proof of customer data they accessed before Oracle contacted some customers to discuss data theft.

12:07 – Juniper Networks and Palo Alto Products are Being Probed
Security researchers have observed a surge in unauthorized scanning of Juniper Networks and Palo Alto Networks devices, potentially indicating espionage efforts, botnet formation, or attempts to exploit zero-day vulnerabilities. The activity includes probing default credentials on Juniper’s Session Smart Networking products and mass login attempts on Palo Alto’s PAN-OS GlobalProtect portals, with nearly 24,000 unique IP addresses involved over a 30-day period.

15:55 – IBM launches the AI Mainframe
In other AI news, IBM is rolling out the Z-17 mainframe which is AI ready. Predictive and generative AI with multi-model support is baked into the new product, available in June. You might have heard that mainframes are either dying or immortal, but AI might be bringing the beast back to life.

20:05 – HPE Announces Aruba Central VPC Options
The heart of HPE Aruba Networking is Aruba Central. The flagship management platform runs both wired and wireless networks. Today, HPE Aruba Networking has announced new options to help deploy Central. The first is a virtual private cloud (VPC) option for regulated industries like financial organizations. The second is an on-prem option for government agencies that includes FIPS 140-2 certified hardware. These two new models add to the existing SaaS cloud offering and Network-as-a-Service solutions already provided via HPE Greenlake.
