AIRI: Converging FlashBlade into an AI Reference Architecture

In this piece, Chris Evans takes a look at Pure Storage’s AIRI platform. This combines high end Nvidia DGX-1 servers with Pure’s FlashBlade. At first glance, this seems so purpose built for AI workloads that it’s easy to lose sight of the larger picture. But Chris rightly points out, this isn’t about AI, more than it’s about building reference architectures to take advantage of the performance of FlashBlade for specific applications. AIRI is great for AI, but more important is Pure Storage showing that they can create this type of reference converged infrastructure to serve specific workflows.
