Atlassian Purge Continues, Sells Jitsi

Today Atlassian is a much more focused company. I know this not because of any particular product updates, but because they now have significantly less products in their stable.

In July the company announced they were pulling out of competition with Slack by shutting down Stride and HipChat, and selling the IP to their one time competitor. Now the company is jettisoning their open-source videoconferencing tool Jitsi. 8×8 is picking up the tool, and plans to roll it into their existing communications solutions.

While not nearly as big of an announcement as killing HipChat, it shows that Atlassian is really focusing on Trello and Jira going forward.
