What if you took cloud storage management and brought it on-prem? At Tech Field Day, I saw a presentations proposing just that. But these solution required a pretty large upfront block buy-in. This takes away management headaches, but doesn’t give you the dynamic provisioning the cloud allows. What you would need is on-prem storage as a service. Zadara Storage is offering just that, and more.

The Igneous Synthesis
I saw Igneous Systems present at Tech Field Day earlier this month. Their offering is a bit of an odd mix at first. They want to offer the benefits of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for data that cannot be stored in the cloud. This seemed counter intuitive, after all, what else would you use the cloud for? But Igneous has a clever solution.
Tech Field Day Events 2017
The Tech Field Day team has a full roster of events for 2017. They will host two main events, starting in Austin from February 1st-3rd. The second comes on September 27th-29th in Silicon Valley. In between, there will also be three Tech Field Day Extra events at Intertop, Cisco Live US, and VMWorld US.
