But rarely does one meet Tech Field Day and continue the same course, unchanged.” Nikki Schnupp tells the tale of her first Tech Field Day experience after joining the team this summer. I think the biggest problem with IoT security is proper visualization. Many consumers setup devices within their homes, with no real idea of what happens to the data collected. Most people just want to do the initial configuration, and as long as they see it working, there’s no issue. The challenge here becomes how do you simply show consumers what devices are on their network, and how those devices are accessing the wider Internet.

The first Networking Field Day event will be held January 18th-20th with a second set for September 27th-29th. In addition, two Tech Field Day Extra Events will be held in Las Vegas at Interop and Cisco Live US on May 22th-24th and June 26th-28th, respectively.
