This just in! First-time delegate, Adam Post, is coming to Cloud Field Day 5.

How did you get into Technology and IT?
I have been a technology hobbyist since the age of 10 when I was gifted my first PC. I began, as many others do, by attempting to overclock, tweak the registry and otherwise thoroughly break my computer. When it was time to enter the workforce, the progression into IT was fairly natural. The emphasis placed on fixing things instead of breaking them was initially disappointing, though.
What do you do now?
My current role as a Principal Consultant at IT Partners, a Phoenix-based VAR, consists of a mixture of pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities across multiple technical domains. For example, I may present on data protection, create a cloud-based solution design and plan a datacenter migration in the span of one month. The breadth of tasks keeps things interesting, and I work best in an environment without silos.
Where do you see IT going in the next 3-5 years?
I foresee the average customer standardizing on hyperconverged within the datacenter and incorporating cloud-based resources and services, where those make sense. Not exactly a bold prediction, I know. 🙂
What was your first computer?
Micron, Pentium I 200MHz (w/ MMX), 64MB RAM, 6.4GB Quantum HDD, Windows 95
If you could have ONE super power, what would it be?
The ability to sleep eight hours in the span of four.
What do you do in your spare time (hobbies)?
Study for certifications and ride motorcycles.
What are your biggest challenges?
Maintaining an awareness of technological developments and industry trends, while not allowing these trends to inappropriately influence recommendations can be a challenge. Business drivers should always be the focus.
Cloud Field Day 5 is happening April 10-12, 2019. Mark your calendars, so you can catch the presentations live!
