How did you get into technology and IT?
A keen interest in computers from an early age evolved into a career.
What do you do now? Tell us a little about your current role.
I am currently a Technical Sales Consultant, which involves presales and solution architecture for an MSP in Ireland.
What are your biggest challenges currently?
Keeping up with the pace of development in IT.
Where do you see IT going in the next three to five years?
A steadfast shift to Hybrid Cloud becoming the norm.
What was your first computer? What was great about it? What is your go-to computer now?
Amiga 500! I modified it to have an extra 512kb of RAM, then modified that to function as chip RAM instead of FAST RAM then added a 20 mb HDD and got it booting into Kickstart 2 and workbench 2! Go-to PC now is a customer desktop PC.
How do you manage your work/life balance?
With great difficulty, given my passion for technology.
If you weren’t working in IT, what would you be doing instead?
Chef, maybe?
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?
Cooking is something I also really enjoy.
What are you most excited about seeing at the event?
Looking forward to seeing what Cisco is going to share.
What is the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
VxRail solution for an Irish state body.
Who inspires you?
Elon Musk.
As a child, what did you want to do when you “grew up”?
Work in IT.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
Delivering solid solutions that work and are fit for purpose.
If you won the lottery and could retire, what would you do with your time?
Split my time between traveling, investing, and giving away my time to try to benefit others.
