We are super pumped to have had Glenda Canfield as a first-time delegate at Tech Field Day 21 in March. She was most excited to see VMware and Google Cloud at the event. Do you know Glenda? Let’s get to know her!
Glenda first got into IT as a teenager. Her first IT job was after school as a bench tech for a music production company. She built her first computer from scratch with spare parts from work. Don’t be alarmed, she had permission to take the spare parts! 🙂 Her technical experience includes design and support of on-demand application data centers, server virtualization projects, and working with clients on design, testing, deployment and training/transition ventures. In her current role, Glenda is a Citrix Architect. Her biggest challenge is creating a consistent environment out of chaos. If Glenda wasn’t working in IT, she would likely be doing Medical Research.
Glenda is very engaged with the Citrix and VMware communities and has presented at several conferences. She has also collaborated and led complex demos with both Citrix and VMware. In addition, Glenda has written multiple articles that have been published in several online technology magazines. And if that wasn’t enough to make you want to sit down and catch your breath, she also occasionally participates in podcasts! And now she is a Tech Field Day delegate!
We asked Glenda how she manages her work/life balance. She said she doesn’t. Ha! Can you relate? I bet many can! She does have hobbies, though. She enjoys reading, writing and hanging out with all “the hound people” in her family. 🙂 Glenda’s favorite book is Winter of Our Discontent. She likes the fact that it explores evil and ambition.
You can connect with Glenda at @CitrixGurl on Twitter or the Tech Field Day website.
Tech Field Day 21 took place virtually March 11-23, 2020. You can watch the presentations on the Tech Field Day 21 event page!
